A graduate of Musashino Art University, he entered CASIO Computer Co. Ltd. in 1978 with a strong belief in the potential of digital wristwatches. As the designer/ creator of G-SHOCK, Baby-G, SPORTS GEAR, DATABANK, and MOBILES etc., he contributed immensely to global design branding strategy for G-SHOCK & Baby-G. until2005, he set up “X-STYLE inc.” to venture into new creations in electronics, musical instruments, Mobilities, semi-conductors, sports gear and web and crowd contents. The company also does consulting for companies, organizes lectures and events, and judges competitions. Ando also heads a non-profit organization and travels around the world in further pursuit of “eco-mobility” and “new mobile” creativity. He plays jazz trumpets as his hobby.
